Stack from JoeWorkman

Version 1.6.6 released 1 year ago

The Responsive Layout stacks replace the out of the box 2, 3, 4 and 5 column stacks for responsive based themes. The columns will break at customizable points so that your content looks good on all browsers from the desktop to the iPhone. There is a 5th stack in this set that will allow you to show or hide content based on the browser size. This allows you to hide content that may not be needed on an iPhone.

Responsive Stacks Great for Older Themes & Ensuring Responsiveness

It's not quite the necessity it used to be. But if you want to work with older themes that don't include smooth responsiveness, this is an invaluable collection.

The go-to stack sets for responsive layouts

Written by Rob Beattie 2 years ago

Currently the first stack that many people reach for when putting together multi-column layouts in a responsive site. Only drawback that I've found is that if you've got an odd number of columns, you can't specify the order in which they re-configure on smaller screens, which is inconvenient if your columns represent steps in a process. Otherwise, fab.

The drawback that you are referring to is a limitation to only the 5 column stack. This is where the columns may not break in the order you would expect them too. The reason the stack is made this way is to ensure that all the columns in this set line up perfectly on all edges. That is not the case with many other stacks out there.
